Promoting interconnections between reflective practice and collective creativity in higher arts education: the potential of engaging with a reflective matrix

Reflective practice has long been understood to be integral the arts, but predominantly conceptualised in terms of tacit or individual activity. Identifying need reimagine and deepen reflective higher arts education as explicit, collaborative, integrally connected artistic practice, this article explores potential a matrix focused on ensemble practices, teamwork collaborative learning for promoting interconnections between collective creativities. The reports research approach based in-depth interviews with 12 professors lecturers dance, music, theatre, visual from University Arts Helsinki, Finland that were analysed stages using matrix. results demonstrate how working provided opportunities extending understandings practices particularly creativities within them. Insights gained include ways which our iterative dialogic way engaging challenged initial expectations deepened two professional dilemmas: an audience navigating correctness. concludes by attending implications both education.
